Services / Running Assessment
Whether you’re an amateur or professional runner, we help you feel efficient, confident and pain-free with our running assessment.
If you’re someone who enjoys running at any level, we’ve got good news for you.
Running comes with a whole host of health benefits.
- Increased lung capacity and cardiovascular function.
- Weight control and increased functional fitness
- Increased bone density, joint strength and stability
- Positive mental health outcomes (got to love that ‘runners high’)
But like any exercise, it can also come with the risk of injury or pain.
If your technique isn’t correct, your body could have trouble with efficient muscle coordination. You may experience stress fractures, muscle strain, arthritic pains, joint sprains or even just the sense that something ‘feels off’.
If you’re running for leisure, you don’t want pain to stand in your way.
And if you’re an elite runner or athlete, you know that optimal technique means better overall performance.

Our Running Assessment in Sydney and Bondi Junction is the perfect way to analyse your technique and get actionable advice.
Ideal for everyone from beginner runners to professionals, this practical, in-person consultation will help you improve your overall running efficiency and performance.
It assesses your current technique to pinpoint how you may be susceptible to injury now or in the future and provides recommendations on how to prevent it.
Here’s how it works
1
Physical Assessment
Our Bondi Beach practice has a fully functional gym onsite, where we are able to see you run, and provide advice and modifications in real-time.
We also video these practical exercises, using footage taken from the sagittal (back) and frontal (side) planes. With a sophisticated application on hand, we can analyse the video footage in slow-motion and with ultra-precise detail.
Diagnosis
By viewing you from multiple angles, we are able to pinpoint any injury risk-factors and assess things like:
- Your technique, foot placement and weight distribution
- Your joint mobility and movement control (muscle tightness, hyper mobility, joint stiffness)
- Whether you favour a particular side of your body or individual muscle groups

Personalised recommendations
During our consultation, we use clear, jargon-free language to break down any abnormality or susceptibility to injury and recommend modifications to improve efficiency and overall performance.
If we find an abnormality that requires further diagnosis or treatment, we can assist you with follow-up physiotherapy services.
Typically, we advise either:
- A physiotherapy consultation (treatments can involve manual therapy techniques and rehabilitative exercise)
- A preventative movement-based program to optimise strength and mobility
Note: These programs are not included in the initial cost of the Movement Screen and all recommendations are acted upon only at the discretion of each client).
